SINTEF is the largest independent research organization in Scandinavia with 2,000 employees in Trondheim and Oslo. Around 40% of its researchers hold doctorate degrees. The Division for Information and Communication Technology (SINTEF ICT) has nine research departments and a staff of 300.

Department of Informatics at the University of Oslo

Ifi University of Oslo The Department of Informatics (Ifi) at the University of Oslo was established in 1977 and is the oldest and largest informatics department in Norway. The current Academic Ranking of World Universities ranks it as no 48 in the world and the best in the Nordic countries. A teaching staff of more than 250 educate 1500 BSc/MSc students and 150 PhD students.
